Hi, signed up recently, and wanted to introduce myself. I am not actually new to the forum, my husband signed up a few years ago as “Library910”, but I did all the posting! As we had changed e-mail addresses, I signed up as myself this time. We live in the Pacific Northwest, and having just lost our 5-year old Barred Rock, are down to 4 backyard chickens. We moved into our current house 1 1/2 years ago and these 4 came with the house! A Speckled Sussex, Gold Laced Wyandotte, Golden Campine and a White Splash Andalusian. I think these girls are about 4-6 years old. They are not as well socialized with people as our Rock, so I have been working with them to get them a bit less skittish and a little friendlier. We have had chickens for about 7 years, and love them. So many different breeds and they look gorgeous. I can see our girls from my kitchen window and life would not be the same now without them. Love the forum, the wonderful advice and kind support!
