Hi everyone,
I love this site and have been learning from it for a while already. I just got a new flock and am building a new coop so I decided to join so I can learn even more.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I used to have a flock of RIRs, with which I learned a lot of lessons. I recently got a new flock of mixed breeds, they are only a few weeks old.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6 chickens and 3 ducks.

(3) What breeds do you have? 2 brown leghorns, 2 black sexlinks, 1 buff brahma, and 1 silver wyandotte. Ducks: 1 white pekin, 2 Rouens.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? The same way I found out about every other aspect of my life, Google.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Fishing, hunting, camping, just in general being outside staring off into space.

G'Day from down under OldDominion... :frow Welcome!

I am pleased you delurked and hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom of the page which are duck specific.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Welcome to BYC! When I first got chickens I remained a "lurker" on this sight for a long time. Since joining, I have met so many people with useful information and learned so much myself about gardening, chickens, quail and even growing mealworms to feed to my animals! There are all sorts of different people with knowledge about different hobbies on here!

Welcome to BYC 2.gif
