Hi,
I actually joined this group a couple of years ago but never introduced myself. Years ago we had Rhod Island Reds and loved them, but then the dog killed them right before we were moving off the acreage. Now we live in town and just got some chicks. The bin said we were purchasing Americanas. After doing some more research online, I think what we have are Easter Eggers. Not that it matters too much to us, but we are excited to see the colorful eggs. They will be 4 weeks on Wednesday.

Anyway,
Thanks!

Coop Ideas:
Chicken Coops

The house was originally used for our ducks, but we don't have them anymore. We are making it into a chicken house. It has two small vents at the top--one on each side. The window opens (in the summer) and there is a side door for us to get in and out etc. My husband has to do some more "remodeling" to get it more feasible for chickens, but they are happier in there than in my basement.
