My name is Thekla and I live with my husband and our two kids in Virginia. We just got our first chickens ever and are super excited! We got 6 golden comet chicks from Tractor Supply last Friday.

We’re really excited about watching them grow and I’m glad I found this site for any questions we might have.

When the get to laying age, give the a hand full of black oil sunflower seeds each day. They are prone to egg laying problems and the oil in their diet will help

I didn’t realize that! Thanks for the tip - I will definitely add that to their diet once they’re old enough.
