(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am still new to chickens but have learned a lot this past year. I got my first 6 chicks last May 2017. After I just moved them outside, I lost 3 to a coon which then I purchased 6 more. And my addiction started....

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 10 hens and 2 cocks with 32 eggs in the incubator. Yep... first time to hatch my own.

(3) What breeds do you have?
My flock consist of 1 Barred Rock, 2 Buff Orpington, 3 Rhode Island’s, 1 Bantum and 3 Easter Eggers all hens and then my 2 cocks is a Silkie and a Silkie-cross. I didn’t realize my silkie was a roo when a friend of mine game me one then a week later mine screeched at me. Surprise! But they get along.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I kept coming to your page when I looked different things up then I have a friend who highly recommends this page.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My daughter and I ride horses and we have other pets as well. Most of our spare time is family time though.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
As I already mentioned, we have horses, well 3. We also have 3 dogs and a cat. My daughter is trying to convince us to allowing her to have a rat, but my husband is not in favor. I also have one son that makes the four humans in the family.

So that is about me. I’m looking forward to continuing learning with my chickens.
