Hi there! I've been reading posts here for awhile but decided to sign up when I had a chick question. (posted separately). I'm new to chickens but am finding it to be so fun! I started with three hens in December....a barred rock bantam, a red production and a black maran. In March I acquired two buff orphingtons from a friend & got them acclimated to my flock. My Maran is broody so I got 3 fertilized eggs & put them under her last week. It's only as I'm typing this out I realize how quickly I've gone from none to potentially 8 chickens! I just find them so enjoyable to watch and I get excited about going out & gathering eggs. I tell my husband it's like waking up excited to see if the Easter bunny came every day. Ha!
