Hello fellow chicken enthusiasts! I am a new member to this site although I have used it as a reference for the last two years.
We originally had two backyard hens but unfortunately one of them died in March. We decided to incubate and hatch a new group of friends for our now lonely hen. After incubating 12 eggs (of unknown fertilization) only one chick hatched and it was an assisted hatch at that! Not able to bear the little day old chick’s lonely cries, we bought two day-old chicks off a local farmer.
I joined the site today so that I could get guesses on the pullet/roo status of our now 5 week old chicks.
I look forward to being in this fun community!
