I’m not new to chickens, but Iam new to the colored egg layers. I have several Ameracaunas, Goose - she lays pink tinted eggs, Peabody who lays blue tinted ones, Nefertiti who lays bright blue eggs, Aboobockie who lays blueish eggs, and Owelette who lays greenish tinted eggs. These aren’t the same kind of chickens I grew up with. My girls will follow me wherever I go when I’m outside and they have unique personalities!

Right now, I have about 15 chickens...I have 5 silky and 2 Cochin silky mixed hens and one poor little roo who is a Cochin that was attacked by another rooster at a nearby farm where I bought the Cochin silky hens. They are all broody! And now, they are putting broody ideas into my big girls’ heads! Welcome to the funny farm!

I also have an Arabian mare named Bella, her donkey friend, named Myrtle, three cats, and a Westie named YoYo, who is a rescue from a breeder “mill.”
I just lost my best friend, Elvis. He was a Westie that I had for 17 years and I don’t think I will ever recover from losing him, except with knowing that one day, when I get Home, I will see him again! I am a believer in Jesus Christ and love the Lord!

I’m new to your board and love to check in and read what fellow chicken owners are doing and right now I’m looking for fertile hatching eggs because two of my big girls have gone broody! I think it’s a plot hatched by the silkies!

Thank you for letting me join!
