I have had chickens on and off all my life, but this my first flock of my OWN. I have 58 chickens and 10 turkeys . I have a very diverse flock that include *chickens - Black Jersey Giants, White Jersey Giants, Columbian Wyandottes, Salmon Faverolle, Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Reds, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Gold Laced Wyandottes, Easter Eggers, Blue Laced Wyandottes, Splash Laced Wyandottes, *turkeys - Heritage Bourbon Red, Heritage Narragansett, Heritage Bronze.
I suppose my favorite thing about my birds, are their personalities! They are all so different. Some are super quiet and others are always talking. Some seeks me out for attention others want nothing to do with me unless I have treats.
I was born and raised in western Colorado and moved to south Louisiana about two years ago, where my husband and I were lucky enough to find a place with acreage. We've got my birds and 3 rescue donkeys, that are just big dogs and spoiled rotten!
