Until recently I had an Amber Star (Babs), Colombian Blacktail (Ginger) and a Blue (Mrs Tweedy). Sadly our neighbours dogs broke into our field and killed Babs and Ginger this week. Poor Mrs Tweedy is injured but alive, scared and lonely. I'm planning to get her some more friends at the weekend.

Our chickens are really pets and my two children (ages 6 & 7) love looking after them, and even help with the cleaning out!!

Our little flock was our first set of birds and were a great little trio, I'm hoping that the new introductions will settle in quickly and our "old bird" will make new friends of them,

Hi Marina and welcome to BYC. You may wish to read up on integration before you get your new girls.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 I’d suggest including your location using the guide in the link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Hello, Marina, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
So sorry to hear that you lost your two girls. :hugs
If your coop is large enough to partition it off, it would benefit the chicks and your lonely Mrs. Tweedy if you could brood the little ones in there with her. Good luck to you.

Hi Marina,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope integration goes well with your new flock members.
