I am originally from NYC, chickens are very new to me. 2 roosters showed up at my house about two months ago and my mom started feeding them, they have not left. I noticed how much she liked them so I’m all in now.

Currently we have 2 standard roosters. I also have a male/female pair of black Seramas.

Standard and Serama

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

The Seramas are really cute because they are so small.

I garden flowers and loom knit.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am a full time caregiver. I care for my mom, my aunt, my disabled sister and 2 dogs.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community

I found BYC by doing a google search for “my hen won’t go broody”
