The commercial feed producers do a better job than I can of producing what a chicken needs to eat on a daily basis. Anything you give them other than their layer feed will subtract from what they are supposed to get every day. Treats occasionally but not necessarily everyday as the others have said. Good luck with your new flock and welcome home to BYC...
