Hello

Ameraucana is a breed that is quite slow to mature. At 4 months they may seem very immature! I have a 5 month rooster that still does not crow or behave as an adult in the flock even now. He acts like a baby! He cheeps like a baby still and gives way to all the others! It takes time for them to mature. The other breed that is very slow to mature is the Brahma. Give your boy time, he will develop into a teen with raging hormones and start going after the girls with gusto in a few more months!
Thank you so much! That helps me a lot. My 6 month old rooster still acts like a baby and is scared of all the hens. I thought something was wrong with him!

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! You came to the right place for your answers. Two Crows gave a great link to articles with loads of information, and feel free to ask questions too. I think your little cockerels are still young. Give them a little time. Then when their hormones kick in, you'll be missing those sweet little timid birds. :lau
