Hi there, I'm a commercial free-range broiler/layer producer from Canada, but I've got a small flock of Ameracaunas, RIR bantams, silkies, and some crosses. Currently in an agriculture college and I am (slightly illegally) incubating some eggs in my dorm room... just got eviction notice from coronavirus though, so we'll see how that goes...

I posted a thread about my power outage during lockdown last night on the hatching section, if anyone has any advice please let me know!

Hi and welcome to BYC. Depending on duration of outage, you should have a fighting chance of a good hatch, albeit delayed by a day or so. Make yourself at home and enjoy the forums.

Eggs have a lot of mass and do not cool down all that fast. They can tolerate quite a few hours without power. You might cover the incubator with a thick blanket to hold in the heat.
