I'm planning to start the next generation with chickens. I have 4 grandchildren I care for and it's been years since I have kept chickens. Also moved from Michigan to South Carolina, so I am here for new info and hot weather strategies.

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Design your coop with LOTS of ventilation and deep shade. Having electric run out to the coop so you can run floor fans in the run and a box fan in the coop when it gets really hot.
I also like to put out a large shallow plastic pan with a large chunk of ice in it. As the ice melts, the chickens sip it and wade in it and that helps keep them cool.
