Hi, I've had chickens on and off over the years and some turkeys one year. I currently have 18 laying hens and 1 rooster of mixed breeds, 1 guinea and 2 ducks. Today I just picked up 2 turkey poults and have chicken eggs in incubator and 1st batch should be ready in 10 more days! Live and learn experiences, I think I let eggs get too cold before incubation and 12 out of 20 did not grow. 1 week later I added 12 more to incubator and can just see blood vessels forming, and it's been only 5 days. Yes I candled them while culling the first batch. The flock of chickens I have now I incubated myself from my homemade incubator, but since I've graduated to a store bought my friend gave me a still air incubator to which there is an option to add a fan (old computer fan) to which I did, it keeps temperature more even.
