My real name is Julia. My hubby is Rick. We are renting a 5 acre wooded property with a little cleared space to raise some chickens. Our landlord gave us a used coop which we are fixing up. We plan to purchase French Maran chicks this weekend. We tended a flock of Road Island Reds about 5 years ago. The pandemic was a good booster to get us going on our dream of raising these beautiful birds. We like the deep dark coppery color of their eggs. Later we plan to expand and add more breeds, but want to perfect our chicken bv raising skills with the Marans first.
