In the Brooder
New to the site. I’ve been raising hens for a little over a year in southern Indiana.
Currently have five 1-1/2 yr old hens: 1 lavender Orpington “Big Momma”, 2 Americanas, 1 leg horn and 1 barnevelder.
A few wks ago we picked up 6 chicks: 3 bovan brown and 3 assorted bantams.
I have 2 coops. 1 large one with a very large run and 1 smaller one for the chicks with a smaller run (until they graduate to the main hen house when they’re older).
As a kid my family raised hens most of my life. So this has been a fun tradition to pass to my children as well.
attached a few pix of my big girls.
