Hello, I am from Virginia and I’ve decided to use the template because I’m terrible at introducing myself relevantly.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I first got chickens last summer, 4 day old chicks (and 4 day old ducklings).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Now I have 4 1-year old hens (Paisley, Tartan, Cardigan and Corduroy) and 6 chicks about 7 weeks old (Peggy, Pearl, Maisie, Margo, Gretel and Princess Laya).
(3) What breeds do you have?
White Leghorn, Easter Egger, Barred Plymouth Rock, Buckeye, Silver Laced Cochin, Speckled Sussex, Welsummer, Black Australorp and Buff Orpington.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like how funny they are and I like having fresh eggs.
Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve known about BYC since last spring when I started research on keeping chickens. I found it because of all the chicken questions that I typed into Google. I finally joined because I had a question about a weird egg problem.
