New chicken mom of about 1 year from the PNW of the US. Been sort of playing it by ear with my first chickens and it’s been quite a ride so far! Started out with six “pullets” and ended up having three cockerels! I had to re-home one, as he and another were beating each other up too badly to stay together. My third cockerel is a little special; they’re both bantams, but he is a lot smaller, has a significant cross beak, and generally seems a bit...oblivious? to social rules. So, they get along ok together.
I have a white Cochin frizzle bantam cock who rules the roost (Little One), a Silkie bantam cock (Ducky), two Easter eggers hens (Bambi and Snicker Doodle), and, my top hen, a black copper Maran (Queenie, who we named before we knew she would be top hen 😅). Queenie went broody a few weeks ago and hatched three chicks! I am very excited for her and hope they all get raised safely. 🤞🏼
I was already coming to this site for so much info, so I figured I would join! Hello, everyone!

I thought so, too, but they all seem to get along well, and one of my EE is very attached to and protective of my special guy (Ducky). Not to mention it is very rare that I see Ducky try to mount anyone, maybe twice in this whole year, and only his bestie.
