Hello everyone! I have been reading and learning a lot on Backyard chickens and decided to join your group. I have 6 chickens i purchased back in March
They were only a few weeks old. Being an Illinois resident they stayed inside with us until it warmed up, and my husband built a coop. I hand fed them daily so they are very friendly. They still eat treats out of my hands and actually come running to me when they see me.
My favorite is the one rooster we got out of the 6 we got. He is a buff orpington. We also have one female buff, and 4 comets. I have a favorite comet also because she always greets me with her sweet cry.
I really love all of them. They always make me smile

My first round of birds are 3 silkies that are 6 weeks old, and a mix of 2 week old Rhode island reds, EE, and brahmas, with what is probably a Hamburg rooster (mystery chick lol).
