(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
-I am new to having my own chickens as of 2020, however I had chickens growing up in my later teens! I got our first flock of 6 from a local man where I live, back in April.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
-Currently we have 8 chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
-2 Buff Orphington, 2 Black Australorp, 1 Welsummer, 1 Cuckoo Maran, and 2 Ameraucana/Easter Eggers- all hens!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
-I love having fun companions around. They bring a lot of joy just having them around. Hopefully my answer will include eggs in the next month or so
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
-I love all things DIY and home improvement as well as gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
-I live in the mountains of NC with my husband, 8 chickens, and 3 cats. In my dream life we'd have other birds as well as more livestock, but for now chickens will do!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
-I found BYC a few months back after bringing home my first flock! I decided to join to get more specific answers to things I had questions on!
