Hello! My name is Kimberly Garrett and I recently joined backyard chickens as my family and i brought home 6 baby chicks last week! I've wanted chicks for a long time and have done a lot of research on them but now I'm getting hands on experience, which is much better! We have 2 buff orpington chicks, 2 cinnamon queen chicks, 1 speckled sussex, and 1 rhode island red. If anyone had any helpful suggestions on anything with raising the chicks or the timing of when you know they are ready to live in the coup, I'd love any advice!

Hello, Kimberly, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
They are ready for the coop at 6 weeks old when fully feathered.
The coop needs to be 4 sq per bird and the run should be at least 12 sq ft per bird with lots of things to do in the run like scratch, perch and dust bathe.
