I am not new to chickens but have not had any for a few years. My husband and I bought our first flock of 4 Rhode Island Red hens 10 years ago. In those 10 years we have also enjoyed some Ameraucanas. I found BackYardChickens.com by searching the internet because I am looking to get another small flock and wanted some additional input about what breed does well in the hot Phoenix summer. I share my home with my husband, 2 kids, dog, 2 cats and a tortoise and am an avid reader and scrapbooker.
