Hi! We're a family of six and a dog, and are brand new to chickens (now that our city has FINALLY allowed them on residential properties). I've wanted chickens since I was little but they have always been out of my reach here in our 'burb. I'm a stay-at-home mum and spend a lot of my time at home, courtesy of a significant amount of anxiety; that being the case, most of my hobbies are at-home hobbies. Top of my list of hobbies is food preservation, and although I'm not a good gardener, I am a very enthusiastic one. Losing myself in research rabbit holes is another favourite hobby. It can also come in very handy.
If Mr P and I had our way, we'd live on property out of town, but that's unfortunately not possible in our current situation. "One of these days" we want to have land and be able to raise our own meat as well as vegetables. In the mean time, we're both thrilled that chickens are now an option!
