Welcome to BYC! Congratulations on your new chickens. How many and what breeds did you get?

Thanks! No chooks yet, as the bylaw amendment has been passed but not officially adopted, but if all goes to plan we'll be getting a year-old Black Orpington. Not sure yet about the others, except knowing that we favour heritage breeds that are friendly and good layers.

As to how many, we have to have a minimum of two hens, which I was really pleased to see put in the amendment. The maximum is four. Of course we'll be getting the max. We also have to get pullets or hens, no chicks, to ensure sex, as roosters are verboten.
