(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Pretty new. We got our first chickens just under a year ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Around 40, but only temporarily.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Red Star (my original flock); new babies include Bielefelder, Salmon Faverolles, Speckled Sussex and a mystery chick I believe is a Crevecoeur. Also 20 Cornish X
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I find a lot of satisfaction in the work of homesteading and raising chickens for eggs and meat is one part of that for us. I’m enjoying the chickens more than I thought I would.

Married, stay-at-home (homeschooling) mom of 3 boys, 1 German Shepherd, 1 outdoor cat
