I (think) I have been here before, but like many of you, I have forgotten my username and had to reregister.
I first got chickens last fall. I currently have a roo, and 9 hens. My roo is some sort of chicken mutt. He looks a bit like a leghorn cross to me. My girls are: 1 rhode island red, 1 black australorp, 1 speckled sussex, and 6 production reds (maybe Isa browns) the man I bought them from said.
I love to watch the way the interact, and of course the eggs.
I do all the yard work. ( I won't "let" my husband. He has bad allergies.) The kids are grown, and gone. So chickens and traveling to see my one grandbaby are my hobbies. I manage some rental houses for my father, and try to keep track of the house and my husbands numerous projects. One cat, and 2 aging parents next door.
Just happened across this forum more than a year ago when I was still saying "chickens are too much work I will wait a couple more years."
Looking forward to the community. Thanks for the chance!
