Hi! As a new member of BYC, there is my brief introduction!
I am new to chickens and I have 11 six weeks old chicks. I incubated their eggs in my homemade incubator and got 12 chicks on 14 fertile eggs (unfortunatly, the last born didn't survive and I lost it at 2 days).
They are Orpingtons (6), Silkies (4) and Olive Egger (1).
What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I wanted to get backyard chickens because it reminds me of the farm. We have quite a large land here and it's fits perfectly!
What are some of your other hobbies?
Horseriding, hicking, wakesurfing, growing veggies...
Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live in Québec, on the riverside. We have a beautiful residential land of 1 hectare with a "natural" pond. I have a 11 years old German Shepherd x Husky named Enzo, a vivarium full of live plants with dart frogs and miniature day geckos and a saltwater aquarium.

Everytime I looked for information on Google, I ended up here!
