I am happy to join this group as a member. I am in my 6th year of raising chickens and love them as part of our family. Getting eggs is an added bonus. I am currently on my third round of raising chicks. My 4 OGs are my heart. Unfortunately, I lost one at only about a year old, due to her being egg-bound. I didn't recognize the signs at first, but have been on the alert ever since. My second round of chicks had one roo, who I loved dearly. However, we didn't have enough girls to keep him (or the girls) happy, so we rehomed him to a farm with over 100 hens. We miss him, but visit him whenever we can. I now have my third set of four chicks and am hoping for continues success with happy, healthy chickens. Looking forward to learning every day! (Current owner of 1 Buff Orpington, 2 Ameraucanas/Easter Eggers?, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Sapphire Gem, 1 Black Maran, and 1 Black Australorpe (which I think is really a Barred Rock).
