Hi everyone!

I live in Manitoba, Canada and recently started chicken keeping since moving to an acreage. We currently have 21 chickens we raised from chicks currently between 5 and 6 months old. We have 10 cockerels right now but will be reducing this shortly as we have quite a bit of fighting at current. We have winterized our coop and are currently setting up a winter run, for now they free range until it gets colder and snowy.

I have really enjoyed reading up on natural chicken keeping and hearing from experienced keepers. I am currently trying to figure out which breeds we may have, decide on one or two cockerels to keep and finish up with the run. So far the whole family is loving chicken keeping!

I will be making another post with some photos of my flock to see if anyone can help identify some breeds!

Thanks for the welcome,

Morgan

Hello, Morgan, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I highly recommend you select your best cockerel and put the rest in the freezer or rehome them.
Do you have lots of ventilation in your coop for winter?
