Hello everyone. Hope this is the right Spot! I'm a new member. New to chicken life. Just getting started and here to learn all I can. Pretty sure I'll be getting started with black copper marans, Salmon Faverolles and possibly buff orpingtons. Open to suggestions for 2 more breeds. I live in Massachusetts so it has to be a hardy breed, friendly, good layers. They will be in a large covered run when I'm not home because of hawks, foxes and coyotes in our area so they must also be content with not wandering far.

Hello from SE Tennessee! I like your breed choices. What about Easter Eggers or another blue egg layer for a pretty egg basket? Welsummers lay beautiful speckled eggs.
