Hello there! I am Ed! My wife Stacy and I have been raising our Dixie Rainbow hens for almost a year now. This site has

great information about the Dixie Rainbow breed. We have 16 hens that are all DR. We love the egg production. They give us 9-12 eggs everyday during the spring although it did slow down during the last winter. They will be 1 year old in a few weeks. They provide a soothing background chatter while we work outside. Our largest girl is just under 8 pounds and our smallest was just under 7 pounds. We are cross breeding with a Rhode Island Red rooster and just had the first three hatch this morning.
