Hi everyone!

About three weeks ago I joined the world of backyard chickens when I picked up three 1-day-old baby chicks from Meyer's Hatchery! They are named after 3 of my great-grandmothers.

1. Velma: Blue Splash Maran
2. Edna: Silver Penciled Plymouth
3. Irene: Blue Ameraucana

So far, we have really enjoyed watching them grow! They are quite friendly and love sitting on our shoulders. My six-year-old daughter is obsessed, as is our Great Pyr mix who has made it his official job to watch over them.

BYC has already been a great reference for me, so I figured it was time to officially join.
