Hello

How old are they? They look old enough to voice sex. Males will have a quiet "whap whap" sound and females will have a loud "quack quack".
They said they were a day old when we got them so they should be about 2 months old now maybe 3. I had no idea you could tell by their voice. They are fairly quiet, they only tend to talk a lot when they get separated or when I have to catch them to put them in their big pool. I never paid any attention to what they sounded like or which one was talking. I will definitely be looking for it now, thank you! I do know one for sure is female because I know at least one was making the loud quack quack sound

Any drakes should start developing their curly tail feathers at this age so be on the lookout for that too. I think I see some starting on the Cayuga.

Why wait? They are excellent with kids. My current girl Bella, the one in my avatar, is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known.
The black male I had I could have released unattended in a daycare and he would have been in his glory he loved kids so much.
Incidentally, all 6 of the Dobies I've owned have been adopted as adults.
Oh I know, it’s not that, it’s that we have toys scattered all over the place all the time and it’s bad enough when our Brussels and chihuahua chew on and ruin them. We have 2 little ones who are not fans of big dogs which hurts my heart. My oldest grew up with Danes and Neapolitan mastiff and blood hounds. My family used to breed French and English bulldogs. We had lots of dogs, I love big and huge dogs. My mom got sick almost died (perfectly fine now) and my dad left so we had to dissolve the business. Had to sell houses our cows horses and dogs. Most of my dogs had passed away from old age the few years prior to this and I only had (and still do) my chihuahua and my oldest sons little chidoodle so my 2 year old and 4 year old have only known small dogs. Once my moms 10 month old Dane calms his butt down some I plan on getting the littles adjusted to him. My husband is also not as enthusiastic about pets as I am and is the one home with them and kids all the time, but he has agreed he really wants a dobie he just can’t handle a big dog and the toddlers. And my chihuahua is like 17 years old and shouldn’t have to and doesn’t want to deal with anymore dogs. The chihuahua I got last year and the Brussels griffon I got a few months ago are sometimes too much for her so I have to wait until she is gone.
