You mean when the coop is ready. They are ready as soon as they exit the egg shell as long as they have a proper heat source.

We are new to owning chickens ourselves, but have close neighbors who have helped us out already even before getting any chicks and have healthy flocks of their own. My wife's family raised chickens for years as well.

We currently have 4 chicks (1 Blue Plymouth, 1 Wellsummer, 2 Easter Eggers).
We have 3 straight run Splash Silkies on the way and will be around 2 weeks younger than our current chicks.

Currently, they are in a brooder in heated garage and will transition to our under construction coop and run when they are ready. Excited to learn and watch them grow. Like anybody who is new, I found this site and it seems to have a lot of knowledge regarding poultry.
