Hi,
Just doing a quick intro. I’m new to chicken ownership and learning all things chicken. I built a coop and learned so much about saws and angled cuts. I had 10 straight run chicks that are now 4 months old. Six of those are definitely roosters and one that were not sure of yet.

We’re getting rid of 3 roosters and maybe one more. Then adding mature hens to the flock to balance it out.

Welcome to BYC. We'd love to see pictures of your coop!
Please excuse the mess outside and the lack of shingles on the coop roof. The coop is the white one. This was when it was freshly built. I will take updated photos. I’m currently building a run.

I liked the idea of a shed style coop so i could walk in it. Easier to clean. Nesting boxes are inside. I wish I had built them on the outside for easier egg access. Each wall has a large window for winter sunlight.

Not shown in photos: raised nesting boxes off the floor, built roost bars above the poop shelf and finished the poop shelf. Coop floor is a linoleum to prevent wood rot. Poop shelf also has linoleum on it.
