Hello

Welcome to BYC! The only sure fire way to keep them safe is to keep them in a covered run.
Welcome. I am sorry for your loss. I agree with @janiedoe. Every single deterrent will have it's limits. Hawks are very smart and strategic. After a hawk attacked my rooster (I had all of the deterrents) - I was only 30-feet away (he didn't get hurt), I got really mad and built a really big run. The walls of the run are hardware cloth with hardware cloth aprons, the ceilings are either metal, polycarbonate, or hawk netting. Good hawk netting is expensive but I will tell you that 2-years later - my netting has held up well and I don't need to replace it yet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WP82KC6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

If you cannot afford buying this netting, you can try getting some commercial fish netting from a shipyard.

hello!
