and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

Welcome to BYC & congratulations on your new chicken journey! I have a young(<1y) pit mix that I'm actively trying to train away from my birds. She does great by my side so I'm hopeful! Do you have a favorite pullet so far? Mine is my Blue Splash MaranHello from Deep Creek, Maryland (AKA Garrett County)! I am a total newbie with zero experience or exposure to chickens. I loveit so far!!! I received 9 baby chicks early July. The breeds are Splash Ameraucana, Buff Orpingtons and Olive Eggers because. I chose the breeds for hardiness, personality and egg color. I have nine pullets now who are in their coop and free ranging. I have a 10 year old black lab that is getting that these are not squeaky toys, but family. I found this group by googling questions (which are many) and this group seemed to keep popping up. I am grateful for the support and look foward to interacting via forums. I am pretty sure my friends think I am crazy but they will be singing a different tune when they get some fresh eggs.
