I'm new to chickens, hatched 5 over the summer and love them dearly. Lost one to a bobcat last week which was incredibly sad but focusing on the rest of the small flock now.

Welcome, and I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm new to chickens myself. I got my first at the end of July, a group of 4 bantams. I have since bought 8 more bantams, in 2 groups of 4 a couple of weeks apart. I lost one of week-olds on Saturday due to failure to thrive. It's tough, but I'm reminding myself that it is so part of keeping chickens.
