Hi everyone! I have been a long time reader of your boards and tend to come here to look for answers to my questions. I always felt like the "little guy" though because I never hatched eggs. Just always got young ones and raised them. I currently have 2 easter egger chickens, 1 RIR, 4 buff orphington, and 7 guinea. (Started with 19!) I'm not a bad guinea mom - they have a fascination with the road and well sometimes people don't care to slow down.
At any rate - I have 19 guinea eggs in the bator right now (that starting pipping this morning!!! My first hatch!) and a broody guinea hen sitting on another 19. She was in a pretty good spot - but now that we are a few days out from her eggs hatching we moved her and the eggs into the chicken house. It took her about an hour but she settled down and started sitting again. Phew!
Anyway - hello and I am glad to finally be posting.
