Howdy,
Thought being new i ought to introduce myself. I live in southern oregon, on a small acre of land with two children a hubby four dogs, two ducks (both drakes, go figure. Buff Runners), 28 chickens (roughly) and about 21 goats, and two cats. I have had chickens for about 7 years, always brooded them inside, never hatched a chicken before (or had a chicken that did). The chicken breeds i have are Silverlaced Wyandottes, Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Polish Bantam (1) Black Australorps, Aracaunnas, and now newly added Barred Rocks (They are about 5 days old) . These birds are my son's for the most part. He started raising them when he was two, he gets what is left of egg money after he buys feed for his birds. We do not have a rooster, never had much luck with them, always get the bad tempered ones.
