Hello... I am a new member to this forum. I am ready to start my flock....in the San Francisco Bay Area...and would like to get two Buff Orpington (point of laying) hens. Does anyone have any suggestions on "how to" get them???

Post a wanted ad on Craigslist or check out some of the local feed stores for postings. While you are there, strike up a conversation with the people working. They may know someone that has what you are looking for.

It is always best to buy locally. See if you have any poultry auctions in an acceptable area for you.

You will be surprised at the number of people that may be able to help you in your endeavors.

A feed store is a GREAT place to start.

You could look and see if there are any poultry swap meets in your area. I live in Florida and the is one somewhere almost every weekend.
