Hi Everyone,
My name is Jenn our family (my husband and our four children) just adopted four silkie chicks (a blue, a black, a buff and a partridge). We've never kept chickens before, but I've been researching them for a long time now, we buy the Chickens! magazine regularly and are in the midst of moving to a farm because we'd like 'turn back the dial' a bit and do some farming. This means we're currently harbouring our chicks in our backyard (okay, our bedroom right now, they're only two - three weeks old) until the move. We are loving having them, I knew I wanted chickens - for reasons I couldn't justify - but they are just SO much fun
We're already way too in love with them and want more. I've realized now that they are addicted. I think the BYC should have a warning banner about the addictiveness of chicks and chickens!
Can't wait to absorb as much information as I can from all the great posts around here. Information sites are great, but interactive sites with real people and real chickens is awesome!
Thanks for letting me join,
Jenn
