Hi Welcome, I am new here too. Just got 4 chickens for the first time on Memorial Day. They are now 5 weeks old but I lost one to a predator last night. I am going to be more vigilant but I think I may buy another chicken or too because they are such fascinating animals.

I lost a duck to either a racoon or my neighbors cat a week before memorial day. She was sitting on 8 eggs at the time. I was able to put 4 eggs in my incubator and 4 under her sister. They were all cold when i found them, but every one of them hatached. I was able to sneak the incubated ducklings in with hers. Itt was cute to see her walking around with 15 ducklings.
