nice to meet all. we are new to raising chicken. only had them for a year now. we started with 12 two were rosters and the rest hens 4 rocks 4 new Hampshire reds and 4 colonials.
in late summer last year the neighbors dog killed one roster and two of our best layers.after that all the hens stopped laying for months.this spring every one was laying great. our hens free range here on our land a fox got our last rock hen.we have had one of our colonials go brewery and she has hatched two of 9 eggs she was sitting on.were hoping the rest will hatch in the nexted few days.
