Hey, my name is Melanie and I don't have any chickens, but would love to at some point. I'm going to look around and see if there's a way we could make this work. We have .55 of an acre, but most of it is fairly steep and not too usable. I have one spot I thought might work, but we'd have to have the run go up the hill behind the coop.... Is it okay to have an uphill chicken run?! :) Lot of information and stuff I need to figure out...

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. A few chickens won't need a lot of room and a run on a hill will be OK. It will stay a lot drier anyway. :thumbsup

! Pleased you joined us! I think an uphill run would be okay if the coop was elevated a little so the "residue" from the run didn't flow into the house. Good luck to you!

You can work it out. Study the forums, plan and you will come up with a coop and run solution. Welcome to BYC.
