I have 10 new additions to our family in the form of Rhode Island Reds! They will be a week old this weekend and so far everything has been going great. We live in the Ozarks so the weather could be 66 one minute and drop to 30 the next. We had this happen the Monday after I brought them home but the research I did and the brooder I have for them kept them safe! Along with my baby girls we also have two dogs, one of which killed all my flock the last time I tried this because I forgot to latch the door and they got out... it was mass murder in my yard and very sad. We also have an English bulldog named Crash and when we introduced him to one of the girls he gave her a big slobbery kiss, needless to say she wasn't impressed and I will keep him away from them for fear he will think they are a toy. We also have two boys, ages 14 and 10 and they have seemed to enjoy watching the chicks.
I look forward to talking to people about my girls and I have a ton of questions that I will need help with!
