Hello everyone! My name is Allie and I am from Rhode Island. My boyfriend and I have always been into outdoor activities and hobbies like hiking, kayaking, gardening. Now a new addition to the list is raising chickens for eggs and for the feathered friends. We are very new to this but I have looked into all the basics online and have found this site to be the most helpful. I purchased a beautiful lavender orpington chick from a breeder up the street, hopefully it is a girl, fingers crossed. She is almost 2 weeks old now and doing just fine, although I feel bad that she is all by herself until the 22nd when we plan on getting 3 more chicks. I love the Orpingtons, they are so friendly and pretty. So I am glad to officially be a part of this site and excited to meet other people with similar interests. Let the fun begin!
