Hi everyone:

We just got 4 new chickens (inherited from my parents who decided that AFTER they got them). I am hoping someone can help identify what breed they are and their sex. I suspect one is a rooster, as it was trying to cockle-doodle-doo yesterday morning at 5:30 am. I wont say which of the four it was

! Happy you joined us! Looks like two Easter Eggers and two Buff Orpingtons to me. I'm wondering if the large-combed buff isn't a rooster as well as the EE with the black, grey, and white feathers on the back of the neck. But I'm right on breed guesses half the time so post the pics in the link below for more informed predictions. Good luck to you!

I'm not a good guesser either but, I still like to try - I do think the big buff(orpington?) is a rooster because his comb I bigger and redder.
